Soprano Mele Santos holds a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance from Brigham Young University. While there, she performed as a soloist and member of BYU Singers and BYU Concert Choir throughout Utah, several West Coast and East Coast states, and the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec.
She has performed in Verdi’s La Traviata, Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Bizet's Carmen, Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, and scenes from Così fan tutte, Don Giovanni, Rigoletto, I Pagliacci, Moore's The Ballad of Baby Doe, and Berlioz's Béatrice et Bénédict. She has also premiered the roles of Agath in Abinadi and Elisa in The Wanderer, both contemporary works by living composers. She has given solo recitals in Utah and Washington, and has sung a number of performances of Handel’s Messiah.
Ms. Santos is a native Hawaiian, born in Honolulu. While in school, she studied the violin for ten years. She currently resides in Bothell, Washington, where she maintains a voice studio.
